The chasing on the top of this box represents some of the most delicate work I have ever done. Over the years my work in silver attempted to reach goals that have all been met in this piece.

The work on the side of the box hides its difficulty well. Cut lines offer no room for correction and the strong mat background requires an almost perfect contour to the underlying volume. The simplicity of this portion of the box is very pleasing to me.

The bottom of the box: With hindsight, I can see the first emergence of ideas that later became more dominant aspects of my work. In some way it stand to reason. The top and side of this piece do represent complete fulfillment of certain goal. The bottom was the last part made and within it old ways begin to yield to new methods and goals.
