A very sweet little piece of my work. Breaking the piece into 10 sections forms just the right proportion. The chasing and volume/contour control is spot on. The finish is one I have been working out. My intention is to mimic a dimpled surface has on something reflected by water. There is a fairly smooth surface under the dappled finish on this piece that does reflect objects close to it. The dappling only partially distorts these images. This is an intentional gambit on my part. Having it works so well makes me happy.

 The red tourmaline is a really, really, good stone. Absolutely gem quality.
